So what do these experts see as the latest trends in popular pizza styles in America?

“A couple of pizza styles to consider are Detroit style pizza and hot Neapolitan style pizza.

Detroit style that was popular in the Midwest is now showing up on the coasts to the south and is really picking up speed, ”says Santos.

“Over the past decade we’ve also seen the popularity of high heat, Neapolitan, or wood fire pizzas. It’s a trend that will stay with pizza lovers, like the thinner texture of this type of pizza that has a different chewing effect. In response to the demand, General Mills introduced a new European style flour called Di Prim ‘Ordine Farina last year, which is specially made for this type of pizza.
